Did you ever need to edit scanned PDF documents, like a registration or application form that you wanted to complete online?

In the past, for editing a scanned document you probably had to print it and fill fields in by hand. Then, you would either scan it or send a hard copy to wherever it needed to go. Besides needing a printer and a scanner, the process probably took you far too much time to complete.

Now there is a far easier way to edit scanned documents. You can simply use pdfFiller as a scanned document editor!

To get started, you should upload a scanned form to your account or open a document that’s already there. When you open the document, you will see the “Edit” toolbar along the top like this:

Choose the “Text” button and start typing on your scanned document. You can move text by dragging the text box. You can also change the font type or size by clicking the corresponding dropdown in the toolbar. To underline your text, to make it bold or italic, use the “U”, “B”, and “I” icons.

Click the black square to change the color of your text box, and click the tree icons to resize the text. Click the “Signature” or “Picture” button to sign your document or insert an image. You can also edit the document by highlighting, blacking out or erasing any text by or image by clicking the respective button in the “Edit” tab. To edit your document further, click the “Pages” tab on the left or the “Watermark” and the “Versions” tabs on the right.

I used PDF filler to complete a URLA form because the one I was sent by a loan officer was so small I couldn't fit the information in it. PDFfiller made it very easy for me to see and complete the form. I feel that this service would be good for a small business owner because there are many documents available as well as documents that explain the documents you are completing.

Optical character recognition, or OCR, is a widespread technology that allows you to scan documents and turn them into editable soft copy documents that you can then easily edit. If you have a printed copy of a document and would like to be able to edit it, you can do it using Word.
You can scan a document and convert the text into data that you can edit with a word processing program. This process is called OCR (Optical Character Recognition). To scan and use OCR, you need to use an OCR program, such as the ABBEY Ringleader program. Place your original document on the scanner.
Open OneNote and then create a new document. Insert the scanned picture from your local drive by clicking “Insert” > “Picture”. Once the picture has been added right click and select “Copy Text From Picture”. Open a new Word Document to proceed forward with the process.
Scanning a Document into a Word File. Open Office Lens. Tap the Office Lens app icon, which resembles a red and white app with a camera iris and the letter “L” in the center of the icon. If you don't have Office Lens installed, you can download it from the Google Play Store for Android or from the App Store on iPhone.
