Web based PDF signing tool I use PDFfiller for signing purchase orders or sending proposals for clients to digitally sign. It's great because users can sign documents in their browser without needing to download anything. PDFfiller's editing tools leave much to the imagination. I don't use the editing features as I can accomplish what I need with other programs.

Digital Signature is a process that guarantees that the contents of a message have not been altered in transit. When you, the server, digitally sign a document, you add a one-way hash (encryption) of the message content using your public and private key pair.
To create a digital signature, signing software -- such as an email program -- creates a one-way hash of the electronic data to be signed. The private key is then used to encrypt the hash. The encrypted hash -- along with other information, such as the hashing algorithm -- is the digital signature.
Uses of digital signatures are used to meet three important goals of information security: integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation.
The three main benefits of using electronic signatures include increased contract speed, enhanced security, and lower transaction costs.
Digital signature schemes, in the sense used here, are cryptographically based, and must be implemented properly to be effective. Digitally signed messages may be anything representable as a bit string: examples include electronic mail, contracts, or a message sent via some other cryptographic protocol.
Digital signatures use a certificate-based digital ID issued by an accredited Certificate Authority (CA) or Trust Service Provider (TSP) so when you digitally sign a document, your identity is uniquely linked to you, the signature is bound to the document with encryption, and everything can be verified using underlying
