When I first signed up, I only wanted a personal account. They system did not provide me with an option to choose, that I could see, between accounts. It automatically signed me up for professional and now I have to jump through a few hoops to cancel the pro and sign up for personal.

it does important essential legal functions in ways that work but are somewhat visually disorienting and that are provided through a user-insensitive, extortive pricing model. The fact that PayPal has removed you from their approved subscription list may be entirely technical but it does not inspire confidence.

Contact the institution that issued you the diploma. Ask if there is a fee associated with having a diploma reissued due to a name change. For misspelled names, include a copy of your birth certificate, driver's license or other government-issued identification.
Name change on a diploma might be done after changing one's name for another, after naturalization, divorce or marriage. As a result, the name change reflects on the permanent record of a graduate, including the diploma re-issued. Most institutions of higher learning to notarize diplomas without any additional charge.
To get names changed on legal forms, school registration, etc, you would have to go through a legal name change. As long as the nickname is appropriate, and it can even be a different traditional kind of name, no one will refuse to call you by it. Except maybe your parents. But well you know, parents are parents.

No, it isn't weird at all. In fact, it's fairly common for students to change their names from one year to the next. It's better to do it now rather than later so that your high school diploma has the same name you will be using for college applications, employment, etc.
In most states, you have to pay a fee (usually $150 to $200) to file your name change petition in court. It also costs a small amount of money to get forms notarized. And if you're getting married, you may want to pay for additional certified copies of your marriage certificate to use as proof of your new last name.
For official signatures, I put my middle initial. For official documents such as a diploma, I always report my full name, including my full middle name. When you do report it, however, you often report the FULL middle name.
Student names listed on a diploma must match the official name on file at the University (first name, middle name, last name), with the following exceptions: Option of first name or initial. Option of diminutive or alternative form for the first name (e.g. Elizabeth to Liz).
