How do I turn on message effects on iPhone?
Open Messages and tap to start a new message. Or go to an existing conversation.
Enter your message.
Touch and hold, then tap Screen.
Swipe to the left to see full-screen effects.

How do you add sound effects to text messages on iPhone?
Tap on Settings and then tap on Sounds
Tap on Text Tone and select from the list, you will find custom text tones appearing under Ringtones whereas defaults will appear under Original section.

To add effects to your messages, making them louder or more meek, press down on the arrow to the right of the text using 3D Touch and select an effect. Available animations include Slam, Loud, Gentle and Invisible Ink. Select Screen at the top for full-screen effects.
