1. Definition: A grievance is a complaint by a student involving the interpretation, application, or alleged violation of College policies and procedures. A grievance action may be initiated by a student against another student, an instructor, an administrator, or a member of the classified staff.
Each letter you write should include the following basic information: Put the date on your letter. Give your child's full name and the name of your child's main teacher or current class placement. Say what you want, rather than what you don't want. Give your address and a daytime phone number where you can be reached.
Put it in writing It is helpful to put your complaint in writing if you can. If this isn't something you feel comfortable doing, you could ask a friend, carer, family member or an organisation like Citizens Advice to help you. Make sure to write 'complaint' at the top of your letter or email, so there can be no doubt.
