Questions & answers

As an actor with no experience, you may only book one in every twenty auditions you attend. Even the best actors may only book one in every five. The key is to put it down to experience and continue to apply for as many auditions as you are comfortable with. The more you apply, the better your chances.
Consider adding times, dates, and locations to your forms, especially if you're hosting multiple auditions. Also consider roles available, and the option to upload a short video. Lastly, close out your audition form by letting auditionees know you're excited to see them and let them know how you will be in touch.
While it's true that auditions for the better roles can only be accessed through an agent, the most basic audition opportunities can be found posted on job boards for actors like ActorsAccess.com, Backstage, etc.
Just walk in tall, with confident body language, introduce yourself (first name and last name), and hand over your headshot and resume. Go immediately to the mark on the floor. If you feel nervous, this is the time to take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Wait for casting director to give you instructions.
Set an exact time limit on a person's performance and make sure they know this before they come. If they are auditioning for a part in a film or play, provide them with a script as soon as they decide that they would like to audition. Create forms for when people arrive.
Auditions should never, under any circumstances, cost you any money.
