well hello field record us I'm here in San Sebastian with this gorgeous view and I figured I'd take a moment well my lovely wife is getting us both a drink to talk about my travel ring so right now I'm recording with mobo and v88 with to mobile I'm sorry sure MV 88 with to mobile wind screens and that takes down the wind quite a bit it's actually fairly gusty up here we're up on top this mountain so you probably can't hear much wind it does a pretty good job it's got a lot of noise but for average sounds it's a fantastic thing and for the sure motive apps works really great but for more critical sounds I've got a little travel day so first and foremost d100 sony do 100 by far my favorite portable recorder accurate but has a couple problems with it mostly the built-in wind screens not very good and is handling noise it's not so great either but as far as the fidelity doing X Y for mono compatibility doing one straight ahead and turning down the game on one channel fantastic for a single mono sound and wide which is sort of pseudo Oh RTF wide XY better ambiences but if the ambience is are too hard to sort of get a central signal I kind of like doing X Y instead of Y it but mostly it's this ambience mode single source mode and then large source slash ambiences that are just too hard to pin down where the center might be for the image so it's a counter the handling noise issue I've got this a mobo attachment right here that's it's 40 bucks on Amazon not super cheap and very small but got a rubberized thing that does reduce the handling noise quite a bit and so you can just put this on here screw the t100 on quite easily and in general with these things kind of screw it so it gets tight at an angle right like this then hold it while you tighten it a little bit and that keeps it secure so now I've got not only that but a yeast selfie stick and the yeast selfie stick adds an extra two layers of rubber rubber on your hand rubber on the top and then a rubber sort of attachment so yeah rubber rubber rubber rubber rubber reduces the noise a lot as well as being a very cool sort of boompole it's very stable reduces noise and lets you get closer to the source and when you don't have a shotgun what's the way to produce to prevent noise well get closer to your source and that really helps with that now to counteract the windscreen issue you can use this right coat Windjammer and it's made for the baby ball gag series' but this is a stereo in fact it's even bigger than a regular baby ball gag but I love that this will cut down anyone I've put this next to ocean winds I'm sure it's at least 30 decibels with the combined screens and so you can see it's very big for what it is but once you set your levels get this thing on there you can do a quick check set it and forget it and as far as portable wind screens go you just simply can't beat it not gonna carry a Zeppelin especially not on a trip with my lovely wife and on top of that I have all I'm making a video...
