Important: Google Chat is now available in early preview for personal Google Accounts on Android and desktop. On the left, under Chat, click the name of the person you want to message. If you can't find their name, click Start a chat. Enter a name or email address. Select the person you want to message.
Chat with others in a file your computer, open a document, spreadsheet, or presentation. At the top right, click Chat. . This feature won't be available if you're the only one in the file. Enter your message in the chat box. When you're finished, at the top right of the chat window, click Close.
