Check or money order The IRS still accepts checks and money orders. Checks are preferable because they're free, and you don't have to drive anywhere to write a check.
Make your check or money order payable to the check or money order payable to the United States Treasury for the full amount due. Do not send cash. Do not attach the payment to your return.
