A: The term 'Fit Out' is not a term or stage used for residential building work. Typical progress payment stages included in the MBA Home Building Contract schedule are, the deposit, base stage, frames stage, lock-up stage, fixing stage, painting stage and final payment for practical completion.

A Category A fit out is the basic finishing of an interior space. Generally commissioned by landlords, this type of fit out includes the installation of a building's mechanical and electrical services.
