How do you calculate heat load for a room?
Calculate the area in square feet of the space to be cooled, and multiply by 31.25. Calculate the heat gain through the windows. Calculate the heat generated by occupants, allow 600 BTU per person.
What is transmission load?
Transmission load. Typically, 5-15% is through transmission loads. This is the thermal energy transferred through the roof, walls and floor into the cold room.
How do you calculate cooling load?
Determine the dimensions of the room or home that needs cooling. For a room, you can do this with a measuring tape. For a room, multiply its length by its width to get the square footage. Multiply the square footage by 20. This is the measure of the BTU cooling load of the space.
How do you calculate infiltration load?
Sensible Heat Gains are calculated by multiplying the CFM of the infiltrated air by the difference in the temperatures of the indoor and outdoor air. Latent Heat Gains are calculated by multiplying the CFM of infiltrated air by the difference in the humidity ratio of the indoor air and the outdoor air.
How do you calculate refrigeration load?

How do you calculate fresh air intake?
Simply select the type of building you are considering adding fresh air to, and estimate the typical number of people occupying the building. Multiply the number of people by the required CFM per person to determine the required fresh air flow. Building use and required fresh air (in CFM) per person: Homes 5-15.
How is HVAC load calculated?
To calculate the estimated HVAC load for a house with 2,500 square feet, 12 windows, and 3 exterior doors occupied by 4 people, simply plug it into this formula: 2,500 × 25 = 62,500 base BTU. 4 people x 400 = 1,600. 12 windows x 1,000 = 12,000.
