But make sure to use the right kind of writing tool for signing a digital print. A pencil is recommended for matte prints. A pigment ink-based pen such as the Sakura Sigma Micron 05 is recommended for glossy surfaces.
Should I sign my art prints?

What kind of pen do you use to sign photographs?
The China Decorator liquid paint pen was, by far, my favorite pen in the test for signing all kinds of prints. It works on canvas, photo paper prints (even glossy!), glass prints, metal prints, and just about anything else you throw at it. Most of the pens in the test didn't stand a chance on glossy surfaces.
Should you sign art prints?
Prints must always be signed in pencil. The title of the print is to be written in the center of the image just below the printed image. It's also common to put the title in parentheses or inverse commas. (Occasionally artist who do not made editions will sign their title more to the bottom left side of the print.)
Are art prints worth anything?
Prints are often seen as mass-produced copies of famous artworks that are just not that valuable or worth investing in. But nothing can be further from the truth. Prints can be just as valuable as any other artwork and certain prints are known to reach seven or eight-figure prices at auctions.
How do you sign art prints?
The standard is to sign the print at the bottom right hand corner below the impression, the edition number on the bottom left-hand corner and the title, if any, in the center.
Why do artists number their prints?
Artists typically now number their prints so that collectors will know that this print edition is limited and that their print is part of the official edition. The numbering of a print does not in itself make that print any more or less valuable, but it does give collectors some important facts about the print.
