Hello in this video I'm going to show you how to crop a PDF document in Adobe Acrobat the reason I want to do this particular cropping is to remove the margins so that when the PDF is read in an e-reader in a Kobe e-reader there's no white space to the left right top or bottom and that way the actual content of the PDF will fill the visible screen instead of being compressed into a little central region the text will be larger and easier to read PDFs don't read one reader it's the same way that a pub or other type of slowing format would write where you could change the font size etc PDFs are much more static, so you might have to pull off a trick like this so regardless of your reason for one in the crop you're going to probably want to first click on View zoom and zoom the page level right that way you have the whole page available for you to draw your cropping box all right now you also maybe want to just go a page display and uncheck enable scrolling on and click on single page view that's what you want to do so that when you scroll you're scrolling a full page at a time now if you'll notice here you know this page is a little more to the left that page is a little more to the right if you want to apply a crop to the whole document you want to make sure you understand whether that is happening so that say you're going to define your cropping area on this page make sure that you go far enough to the left so that the following page has all the content represented right so once you have an idea of the actual area that you need you can click on edit PDF and at the top menu here you can choose crop pages and your cursor will turn into this little X type cursor okay so say if we start at the bottom right here, and we go up and around now this is where we don't want to stop here because the content for the following pages is more to the left right, so you'll have to have judged if you put your finger on the screen as a marker when you were on the other page, but you're going to want to remember how far you have to go there right draw the box that large and once you have your crop box drawn out double-click on it and this set pages box will show up and what you can do is choose page range all if that's what you desire okay apply to even and odd pages and click OK right, and now we have the cropped version here and if we go down a page looks okay right the contents more to the left, but we haven't totally trimmed it off all right, and you can just kind of scroll through your document and make sure that everything is looking good and this looks great so once you're done you can go ahead and save the file or you can click on save as and save a version right, but I'll just go ahead and click Save to overwrite the original file, and now you can distribute to your e-reader or wherever else you need the cropped version of your document hopefully this has helped you thanks for watching and if you enjoyed this video please subscribe
