Instructions and Help about TSA Precheck Application Program
You get to keep your shoes on. Your light outer jacket, you can keep on. Laptops, they can stay inside the bag along with the liquids as well. TSA Prey® has changed the dynamic of security checkpoints at more than 130 airports across the country. A one-size-fits-all security approach no longer applies. The vast majority of people pose little to no threat to aviation. Phones, keys, and wallets are going through the X-ray. Passengers have an option to expedite the screening process and avoid some hassles of flying. Enrolling in TSA Prey® means leaving on your light outerwear, shoes and belt. Also keeping your laptop and small bottles of liquids and gels in a carry-on during screening. It’s a process that speeds things up and makes, in my opinion, life easier for everyone. TSA Prey® allows TSA to focus its attention and resources on passengers who pose the most potential risk to national security, while making the travel experience better for those who enroll in the program. Tied to security always is the passenger experience. With TSA Prey® we’re able to get both of those benefits. Enrollment is a simple process that begins online at TSA.gov, and by clicking the TSA Prey® tab to pre-roll. It then requires an in person visit to any one of more than 300 application centers nationwide. Oh, it was so easy. You just go online, fill out a few questions and print it out, and dig out your passport or ID, and come down here. Honestly, I’ve always looked at the folks who do have TSA Prey®, and I’ve been envious and thought “I want to do that. I want to be in that line. I want to, you know, really expedite the process.” Travelers present a valid passport or other forms of identification and submit fingerprints for a vetting process. I travel a lot, and not being delayed by lines, and stuff like that, seems like a pretty big benefit. Once vetted and approved, travelers will receive a Known Traveler Number, or KIN, to submit when making airline reservations. Passengers who volunteer to have their backgrounds checked are a key factor in TSA’s risk based security philosophy, as the agency continues to adapt for an ever-evolving threat.
