With standards-based proficiency grading, students receive a proficiency score for each of the grade level content standards that are taught and assessed in each class. Student work may be graded as follows: P (pass), satisfactory performance (C– or better for undergraduate course work, B– or better for graduate course work), or N (no pass), unsatisfactory performance, no credit awarded (D+ or worse for undergraduate course work, C+ or worse for graduate course work).

Use the evidence you gathered to support your argument. Be specific about the aspects of your work that you believe were undervalued.
Courses with an optional grading basis allow students (not instructors) to choose either a Letter grade or a Passed/Not Passed grade (for undergraduates) or Satisfactory/Not Satisfactory grade (for graduate students).
