CAT is a digital signal amplifier that protects the over-voltage-sensitive device from transient and external interference by converting the transient signal to a stable, constant-resonance output. IOV CAT consists of a non-linearity generator that controls the gain of the non-linearity stage and a digital non-linearity generator that converts the output signal directly into the desired value as the transients are passed. In both stages, the basic idea follows from the linear nonlinear device (LLD) principle, where a linear non-linearity converts a constant over-voltage signal to a variable voltage signal. In IOV CAT this linear non-linearity stage is employed to convert the over-voltage signal to stable, constant-resonance and to ensure the stability and the continuity of it. This device can be configured in three variants. The first variant consists of two collinearities, one in the LLD and one in the non-linearity stage. In this variant, the non-linearity generator acts as a gain stage and acts as a voltage follower. The other variant consists of two LLD amplifiers. In this variant, the non-linearity generator is applied to one of the amplifiers, and the second stage converts it to an output by performing an oversampling. The three variants are also able to achieve non-linearity and gain-stage amplification, and thus provide the possibility to build multiple nonlinearity-generated circuits. By means of a software-defined non-linearity transform, the user can design a non-linearity circuit, and by means of an intermodulation distortion simulator, it is possible to discover distortion signals in this circuit. Figure 1 shows an overview of the general aspects, construction process and performance of the circuits. Figure 1. Concept overview. Non-linearity Generation In the non-linearity generation stage, an INCL is used to generate an ONLY. This ONLY can then be coupled directly to the non-linearity stage via a gain stage. In this manner, the signal can be integrated into the system as output in a nonlinearity-based system that is completely independent of and inimical to any other circuit, not only the basic IOV CAT. The non-linearity generator can be implemented as a fixed frequency converter (FCC) or a variable frequency converter (FD) for an analog signal and an analog device.
