Who needs a VTR-130-UIF?
Form VTR-130-UIF, Application for Texas Certificate of Title, should be completed by both parties to the motor vehicle purchase contract completed in Texas.
What is VTR-130-UIF for?
The MTR form 130-UIF must be completed and submitted to applicant’s County Tax Assessor-Collector in order for the sales and use tax to be paid within 20 county working days from the date of vehicle’s purchase or entry into Texas.
Information on this form is to be used by the Tax Collector to register the car sale and make a record of the payment of tax to the state and county tax database.
Is VTR-130-UIF accompanied by other forms?
The completed application for certificate of title, properly assigned title, current registration receipt (if available) and the proof of insurance in the title applicant’s name, are required to be filed as one package.
If additional liens are to be recorded, you should also attach Form VTR-267.
When is VTR-130-UIF due?
This form and all mandatory documents are to be filed with a County Tax Assessor-Collector within 20 working days from the date of sale.
How should I keep in mind while filling out MTR form 130-UIF?
The first part of VTR-130-UIF is for the Tax Office use only, you should leave it blank.
Other parts of the form should be completed in a rifer to the certificate of title assigned to a buyer by the seller for vehicle information and description.
The following information should be provided in order to complete the form:
- Previous Owner’s personal information;
- First Lien information;
- Odometer Disclosure;
- Motor Vehicle Tax Statement (including information on tax computation);
In order to be valid, this form should be signed and dated by the seller and the purchaser.
Where do I send VTR-130-UIF?
Once completed and signed, this form should be directed to the applicant’s tax collector office.
