It can be irritating. There are capabilities in the software that are not immediately obvious. You have to discover them without assistance. e.g. How to reduce font size where that is available.

So surprised and happy to find this VA…
So surprised and happy to find this VA application online and available to convert to a filler style form. Printing the document by-hand was painful and re-dos were tedious but with your program I was able to complete and annotate (where needed) the application in a legible, presentable manner. How do I toggle in mail merge?
In the template document, while the merge field is selected, do the following to display the field code: Press Shift + F9 on Windows. Press FN + Shift + F9 on Mac. Remove \\* REFORMAT from the field code. Enter the switch in the field code. For example: Update the field: Press F9 on Windows.
How do I toggle field codes in mail merge?
On your original source document (before completing the merge), right-click on the field and selectToggle Field Codes. Place your cursor before the closing bracket and type: \\# $, #. 00 (There is a space between the first # and the $.)

How do I change the number format in a mail merge?
Perform the first different steps of the Mail Merge as usual (Start Mail Merge, Select Recipients and insert Merge Field) Select the number field you wish to change and press Shift+F9. The code of your Merge field is now shown.
How do you do a dollar amount in a mail merge?
If you want to round to two decimal places, use \\#0.00 in your merge field. If you want the number to have a dollar sign before it (for anything that is money), use \\#$# in your merge field. If you want commas in your number, use \\##, ### in your merge field.
How do I format a merge field in Word?
Select the field, such as Amount, as shown in this example. Press [Alt] + F9 to reveal the field coding. Edit the field by simply inserting a numeric switch code to the end of the field. Press [Alt] + F9 again.
