What are the ways to achieve Cord contract upgrade?
After all parties have authorized the contract upgrade for the state, one of the contract participants can initiate the upgrade process by triggering the ContractUpgradeFlow. Initiate flow. Initiate creates a transaction including the old state and the updated state, and sends it to each of the participants.
What does a contract in Cord represent?
The heart of a smart contract is the code that verifies a set of state transitions (a transaction). The function is simple: it's given a class representing the transaction, and if the function returns then the transaction is considered acceptable.
What does a contract verify method return?
Contract has a single method, verify, which takes a LedgerTransaction as input and returns nothing.
What does a transaction in Cord represent?
Initially, a transaction is just a proposal to update the ledger. It represents the future state of the ledger that is desired by the transaction builders: To become reality, the transaction must receive signatures from all the required signers (see Commands, below).
Does Cord support smart contracts?
Cord supports smart contracts. Smart contracts in Cord are agreement whose execution is both automata by computer code working with human input and control, and whose rights and obligations, as expressed in a legal prose, are legally enforceable.
How long can flows remain in a suspended state?
Currently, Cord does not impose a limit on how long a flow can be suspended. With the current flow APIs (Cord V2), you can only suspend flows for P2P messages, so it isn't easy to sleep for long periods anyway. Over time this will become more of an issue as we make it possible to wait for additional kinds of events.
What role does a command play inside a transaction?
Including a command in a transaction allows us to indicate the transaction's intent, affecting how we check the validity of the transaction. Each command is also associated with a list of one or more signers.
