As EZ TAG customers use the system, tolls are electronically deducted from their account. When the EZ TAG account reaches the minimum balance level, it automatically charges (debits) the customer's credit card or bank account to bring it back to the original deposit amount.
All you need to set up the app is a credit card and your vehicle information. Within the app, you will pay the cash, non-tag toll rate, versus the physical tag, which charges the lowest toll rate. You won't receive monthly statements with an app like you would with the EZ Tag.
An EZ TAG Express account is created on the mobile app using a credit card. The account can only be used for one vehicle at a time. Purchasing an actual tag is not required. Users pay the non-tag/cash toll rate, which is typically higher than the tag rate at main lane plazas.
Previously, customers were required to wait several business days for their tag to come in the mail, or drive to an EZ TAG store to pick up the tag before using the road.
EZ Tag is compatible with any Total toll lane, and it is compatible with larger regional transportation authorities, including the North Texas Tollway Authority in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. The EZ Tag may be used on all Texas toll roads and on the Kansas Turnpike in Kansas.
If you have an EZ TAG Account and have received toll violation invoices in the mail, your EZ TAG Account may be suspended! Please log in to your EZ TAG Account to pay your toll violation invoices and your outstanding negative balance.
EZ Tags are free of charge for the first eight (8) EZ Tags associated with your account, including replacements. The total of eight (8) tags per account includes deactivated tags. Each replacement EZ TAG thereafter will cost $2.00.
EZ Tag can be used in Texas, Oklahoma or Kansas and costs $15 for the tag. You must load $40 onto the tag to begin with, and it reloads a minimum of $40 automatically when your balance dips below $10.
