Contact Support
Contact information: A scanned QR code functions like a virtual business card, including your name, phone number, email, address and company details. These are automatically stored in a phone's contacts when scanned.
A QR code can contain information such as a phone number, an SMS or email message, V-Card contact details or just plain alphanumeric text.
A QR Code is a 2D barcode that stores more information than the commonly used UPC barcode. The information stored in a QR Code can be read using a smartphone application.
A 101x101 QR code, with high level error correction, can hold 3248 bits, or 406 bytes.
QR is short for Quick Response (they can be read quickly by a cell phone). They are used to take a piece of information from a transitory media and put it in to your cell phone. You may soon see QR Codes in a magazine advert, on a billboard, a web page or even on someone's t-shirt.
If you answered a QR Code, you're correct. ... Unlike conventional barcodes, QR codes are two-dimensional. This means that they can store data both horizontally and vertically, giving them the ability to store more than 100 times the amount of information as a conventional barcode.
A 101x101 QR code, with high level error correction, can hold 3248 bits, or 406 bytes. Probably not enough for any meaningful SVG/XML data. A 177x177 grid, depending on desired level of error correction, can store between 1273 and 2953 bytes. Maybe enough to store something small.
1) Amount of data: Since the 2D barcode can hold information both vertically and horizontally, it is capable of holding much more data 4000 characters or more! As the 1D barcode only holds information horizontally, it is limited to just a few alpha-numeric characters.
Anatomy of the QR Code Information can be encoded by a variety of methods and different types of encoding can be used in the same QR code: Numeric (10 bits per 3 digits) Alphanumeric (11 bits per 2 characters, but can't store lowercase letters)
This means that unlike traditional barcodes which are 1 dimensional and use 1 row of lines, QR Codes use 2 dimensions which allows them to store a lot more data in the same area of space. The QR Code standards don't allow you to create a QR Code with just any combination of rows and columns.
