I love PDFFiller, but I know I won't be using it often. I wish you guys have pay-per-use option instead of paying for a whole year. If not for this very important court doc I'm filling out, I won't even consider paying for a whole year.

This is an awesome program. I've searched for a long time and haven't been satisfied with what was available on the internet. This is a program that does what it says it can do and does it very well... finally!

Amazing customer support
I had to contact customer support because I, out of my own negligence, got charged for one of their products. They were extrememly helpful and resolved the issue, even though they had no reason to do so (except sympathy). Extremely nice customer support. Definitely recommend.

Why is my PDF checkered?
Checker board pattern sounds more like the transparency grid. Open up the preferences for your application, then select the "Page Display" category and uncheck the option "Show transparency grid". Did you by mistake enable the "Grid"? You can toggle it using Ctrl-U (or Cmd-U) on a Mac.
