Accidental annual subscription I had accidentally signed up for a 1-year subscription and PDFFiller were very very friendly and ended the contract for me after all and refunded my money straight away.... I think any other company would have left me out in the cold and kept my money, because it was obviously my mistake with the forgotten cancellation... really a big thank you and also for the fact that the support took care of it so quickly. When you move out prior to the end of the lease, the landlord has a legal obligation to try to rent your unit again as quickly as possible.
There are times when a tenant may wish to leave a rental property before the lease expires. But where the rental agreement is for a fixed time and there is no cancellation clause, the tenant may not cancel the lease unless the landlord agrees or is in breach of the contract.
Basically, you agreed to pay rent and the landlord agreed to rent you a habitable apartment. If you simply leave in the dark of night, you are still liable for the rent. That means that the landlord can go to court and get a judgment against you.
Yes, you can move out BUT you remain liable for the rent until the end of the lease — unless your landlord agrees otherwise. Just because you are renting it, you don't actually have to live there. We moved out of our rental before the lease was up.
Check your lease agreement for an early termination clause. Evaluate the consequences of early termination and decide whether it's worth it. Determine if you have a legal reason to break a lease. If you cannot legally break your lease, determine how to get out of your lease with minimal losses.
