PDFfiller is a great resource for business needs and ordinary forms we use every day. I'm finding as I use PDF filler more, the more I see the value for business and tax time. Is it OK to backdate a contract?
Backdating is the practice of marking a check, contract, or other legally binding agreement, with a date that is prior to the current date. Backdating is usually not allowed and even can be illegal or fraudulent in some situations.
How do you backdate an agreement?
Perhaps the most common form of backdating is as of dates. Frequently, the beginning of a contract will state it is entered into as of a certain date. Use of the phrase as of should be a red flag that the date is not necessarily the date on which the contract was signed.
