Press Ctrl + 1 to open the Format Cells dialog (or right-click any of the selected cells and choose Format Cells from the context menu). In the Format Cells dialog, switch to the Protection tab, uncheck the Locked option, and click OK.
Can you lock borders in Excel?
If there are a lot of edits to be made on the worksheet, select the worksheet and in Format Cells, Protection, unlock all the cells and only lock the cells surrounding the “target cells” that will have borders that you want to protect.
