If you discover that you have become a victim of DL or ID card fraud, immediately contact DMV to report the misuse. For an appointment call 1-800-777-0133 or e-mail your inquiry to dlfraud@dmv.ca.gov.

Mandatory Medical Reporting Laws: In some states, physicians are required to report patients who have specific medical conditions (e.g., epilepsy, dementia) to their state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). These states generally provide specific guidelines and forms that can be obtained through the DMV.

The Department of Motor Vehicles used to have a toll-free number people could call to report expired license plate tags, but because it was used so infrequently, the service was discontinued, said Bill Madison, a DMV spokesman in Sacramento. Now people can call (916) 657-6718, Madison said.
But if you truly suspect abuse or fraud, there are several ways you can report it. First, you can contact the Department of Motor Vehicles at 800-777-0133. You can also contact any of the DMV Investigations offices. There are 21 offices located in California, most of them in the Southern California.
