On the Home tab, click the Paragraph group's dialog launcher (the small arrow at the bottom-right. Click the Line and Page Breaks tab. Check the Keep Lines together option, and click OK.
Right-click on the paragraph. Select “paragraph”. Select the “Line and Page Breaks” tab. Uncheck “Window/Orphan control” option.
Right-click on the paragraph at the top of the second page and select Paragraph. On the Line and Page Breaks tab of the Paragraph dialog, make sure that “Page breaks before” is not checked. If it is not, probably “Keep with next” is.
The most commonly recommended abbreviation for continued is cont. Cont'd is also a correct way to make continued shorter. It's a contraction, rather than an abbreviation. When writing continued on next page you should consider spelling out the full phrase instead of using a shortened form.
Place the cursor where you want to start a new page. Go to Insert > Pages > Page Break. Click on the Show/Hide symbol, which appears as a paragraph mark (¶) on the Home tab. Double-click the break you want to remove. Hit Delete.
