Is scanning like faxing?
Scanning and faxing from a cell phone works through the same technology as Internet faxing. A document, in this case a digital photograph, is e-mailed to an Internet fax service that converts the digital photo into fax data. The fax service then sends the fax to the recipient over a phone line.
Is scanning the same thing as faxing?
Fax machines scan an image or writing on a piece of paper and digitally transmit the information to another fax machine, which prints a copy. Scanners read the information or images on a piece of paper and capture the information digitally as an image file, which can then be altered, stored or transmitted as necessary.
Can you fax something with a scanner?
The machine reads and transmits the document which prints on the recipient's fax. When you use your scanner to fax a document, you feed the document through your scanner which creates an image of the document on your computer. You then use your e-fax program to send the scanned document to the recipient's fax machine.
Is a fax a photocopy?
A faxed copy of a document is not the original and, obviously, neither is a copy of an original document. In other words, is a contract still legally binding if the only signatures on record are faxed copies? The short answer is that it depends.

Click the PC-FAX tab. If you want to change the scan settings, right-click Send Scanned Image and then choose Button settings. Click Send Scanned Image. The PC-FAX sending dialog will appear. Enter a fax number using the dial pad or your PC's keyboard. Click Start to send the fax.
