Who needs the form?

Partners in a business structured as a partnership must file IRS 1065 if the partnership had any income during the year. Additionally, corporations that have elected to be taxed as partnerships need to complete this form. However, certain entities like LLCs filing as sole proprietorships don't require this form.

Failing to file IRS 1065 on time can result in significant penalties. The IRS imposes a fine of $210 for each month the form is late, multiplied by the number of partners for each month the failure continues, up to a maximum of 12 months. Additionally, failure to provide accurate K-1s to partners can incur separate penalties.

it's a little bit too expensive for me. I will not have to use it very often, maybe only once or twice a month for work, but i do require the premium package for all of the features that i need to have. so it just seems crazy to me to pay almost $200 a year for something im only going to use 24 times the whole year. other than the too high price, i think its a great program!
