What is a stock transfer form?
A stock transfer form (also known as form J30) is the standard document required for the transfer of shares in the UK. It contains details of both the seller and buyer of the shares, the type and number of shares being transferred and the amount paid by the buyer.
How do you transfer ownership of a stock?
The owner must endorse the stock by signing it in the presence of a guarantor, which can be their bank or broker. There may also be a form on the back of the certificate, which relates to the transferring of ownership. After the certificate is complete, it will be rendered non-negotiable and becomes transferable.
How do I transfer a share certificate to another person?
A person who gives his signature, name and address as approval for transfer must see the transferor and the transferee sign the share/debentures transfer deed in person. The relevant share/debenture certificate or allotment letter with the transfer deed must be attached and sent to the company.
Do I send stock transfer forms to Companies House?
