Speedy and excellent customer service
I had a trial/billing issue and sent an email to their support email address. It was around midnight when I sent my email so I didn't think I would hear anything back from them until later that day during business hours. Starting on January 26, 2020, it will cost $6.95 to send a First-Class letter as Certified Mail with a hard copy Return Receipt. This breaks down to $0.55 for the stamp, $3.55 for Certified Mail and $2.85 for hard copy Return Receipt.

Are postal rates going up in 2020?
In the approved USPS 2020 rate case, there are no price increases to First-Class Mail Letters and Flats (up to 1 oz.), and no change to postcards. Overall, Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express will increase by 4.1% and 3.5% respectively, but those increases vary by Retail/Commercial, zone and weight.
Which is cheaper certified or registered mail?

Can I send a certified letter from home?
Generally to send certified letters you would need to take your letter to the post office, fill out certified mail forms, apply a certified mail tracking barcode to your letter, and present the finished product to the postal clerk for them to calculate charges and collect payment.
Why would a doctor send a certified letter?
You have a medical condition that needs to follow up and the office is unable to contact you. In this case the letter will have a reason for follow up. After such a notification if you don't schedule follow up and something bad happens it is not the doctor's fault.
