How do I vote by mail?

Any registered voter may vote using a vote-by-mail ballot instead of going to the polls on Election Day. After you have voted, insert your ballot in the envelope provided, making sure you complete all required information on the envelope.

Does your ballot count if you leave something blank?

If I leave something blank on my ballot, my ballot won't be counted.

When voting can you leave some blank?

Under & Over Voting Your ballot is counted even if you leave some races blank (this is an under vote). Voting more than once for a question or race will cancel that vote (this is an over vote). The part of the ballot that is not over voted will be counted.

Do you have to fill out the whole ballot when voting?

You are not required to vote the entire ballot. You may pick and choose the races or ballot questions for which you want to vote. Skipping sections of the ballot does not invalidate your ballot.

Can you vote blank in the US?

A protest vote (also called a blank, null, spoiled, or “none of the above” vote) is a vote cast in an election to demonstrate dissatisfaction with the choice of candidates or the current political system. If protest vote takes the form of a blank vote, it may or may not be tallied into final results.
