How do you selectively highlight?
If you want to highlight one word at a time, press Ctrl key while holding down Shift, and then press the left or right arrow key. If you want to highlight a whole line of text, move your cursor to the start of the line, hold the Shift key, and then press the down arrow.
How do I get rid of the highlight cursor?
In the bottom right corner of the settings' menu select Change PC Settings. In the PC Settings Menu select Ease of Access. In the Ease of Access Menu select Other Options. At the bottom of the page in the Visual Options section see the Cursor Thickness Slider and slide it all the way to the left.

How do I remove highlighted text from copied?
To remove the formatting in Microsoft Word from any text highlight the text and press the shortcut key Ctrl+Space bar. The shortcut sets the text to the default font, removes the formatting, and even removes links.
How do I stop highlighting when I click?
Select the text that you want to remove highlighting from, or press Ctrl+A to select all the text in the document. Go Home and select the arrow next to Text Highlight Color. Select No Color.
How do I remove highlighting in Google Docs?
Open the Google Doc (if it's not already open). Select the text you want to remove highlighting from (click and drag to select the text). Click the Highlight color button. Select None.
Why can't I remove highlighting in Word?
What appears to be highlighted text might actually be character shading. As such, try removing the highlighting by selecting the text and clicking the Clear Formatting option on the Home tab. Users can also select the text and press Ctrl + Space to remove its formatting.
