If your claim is on automatic payment, after 10 weeks of payment, you will receive a Disability Claim Continuing Eligibility Certification (DE 2593). You must return this form to the EDD to certify that your disability continues. If you do not return the DE 2593, your benefits will stop.
The DE 2500A, commonly called a continued claim certification, is your request for continued disability benefits. By signing and dating the front of the form, you certify that during the dates shown on the continued claim certification you have not recovered from your disability.
Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits are paid after a properly completed and signed Continued Claim form is submitted to the Employment Development Department (EDD). You will receive a Continued Claim form within 10 days of EDD processing your application for UI benefits. Claim forms are submitted every two weeks.
A weekly claim certification is the claim you file for a certain calendar week when you want to receive an unemployment benefit payment for that week. A calendar week for UI purposes always starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday.
When do I get paid after I certify? If your certification responses are approved, benefits are paid within 2-3 business days. (Federal & State holidays may delay payments by an additional 24 hours.)
