This has been very helpful. My only problem is a tried to sign up for a monthly membership and I ended up getting charged and receiving a year membership. That part is a bit confusing.

When you forward an email Does it go to the original sender?
The subject generally has FW or FWD added to the front of the email to show that it's been forwarded. But ultimately, unless you add the original sender, the original sending will not know that you've forwarded the email.
What mail Cannot be forwarded?
Standard mail is not forwarded unless it is endorsed Forward Service Requested. That includes all types of standard mail; letters, flats(catalogs) and parcels. Package services are forwarded. Surface packages(parcel post) are charged to you as postage due on delivery.
How long does it take for mail to be forwarded to a new address?
How long before mail is forwarded to my new address? After USPS processes your Change of Address request, mail may take seven to 10 business days to arrive at your new address. So it might be about two weeks before you see your mail online.
What happens to mail that is not forwarded?
The mail sender owns that piece of mail all the way until the mail is delivered into your possession. If you don't have a current forwarding order (change of address) it will be returned with the reason of non-delivery. Standard mail is not forwarded unless it is endorsed Forward Service Requested.
What is forward service requested?
Forwarding Service Requested addresses the forwarding and return of mail. New address notification is only provided with return pieces as indicated in the table below.
Is there a charge for return service requested?
Return Service Requested Tailpiece returned with new address or reason for nondelivery attached. No charge.
How does Address Service Requested work?
”Address Service Requested - In the first year after the recipient moves, the mail is forwarded. You'll be given their new address and charged an address correction fee. In months 13-18, the tailpiece is returned to you with the recipient's new address, at no charge.

The U.S. Postal Service will not forward envelopes marked Return Service Requested but will return it with the new address, if available. This information will notify the Service Provider of a household's move, so they may begin the process of finding the household or defoliating the funds.
What is Address Service Requested?
Address Service Requested provides forwarding and address correction services when possible. If the mail is undeliverable and not forwardable, it is returned to the sender with the reason identified on the tailpiece. Return Service Requested provides address correction services and always returns the piece.

The DMV typically will not forward mail to a new address due to confidentiality reasons, which may come as an unwelcome surprise to drivers with unfinished business.
