Really came through for me when I was charged a subscription fee. Being a small business owner, things get hectic. I had used it for my taxes and meant to cancel it but forgot. How do you define a requirement?
A condition or capability needed by a stakeholder to solve a problem or achieve an objective. A condition or capability that must be met or possessed by a solution or solution component to satisfy a contract, standard, specification, or other formally imposed documents.
How should requirements be written?
Each requirement must form a complete sentence with no buzzwords or acronyms. Each requirement must contain a subject (user/system) and a predicate (intended result, action or condition). Avoid describing how the system will do something. Only discuss what the system will do.
What makes good requirements?
A good requirement states something that is necessary, verifiable, and attainable. Even if it is verifiable and attainable, and eloquently written, if it is not necessary, it is not a good requirement. If a requirement is not attainable, there is little point in writing it.
