About Breeze. Breeze is the new online licensing and enforcement system for the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA). Breeze allows licensees and license applicants to do business with DCA electronically, and allows greater access for consumers to interact with DCA.

Re issuance of Cancelled License If you fail to renew your license for a period of five years, it will be cancelled. Once cancelled, your license cannot be renewed, restored, or reinstated.
You can still renew your guard card up to 60 days after the expiration date, but the fee increases to $65. If you don't include the applicable delinquency fee with your application, your renewal will be delayed.
Guard Card Renewal Fee If your Guard Card has not expired, the renewal fee is $40. If your Guard Card has not been expired for more than 60 days, the Guard Card renewal fee is $65.
How long does my guard card last? Registration is valid for two years and expires the day after the expiration date on your card. There's a 60-day grace period during which you can pay a delinquent fee to reinstate your registration. After 60 days, if you haven't renewed, you must reapply as a new applicant.
