Do one of the following: To change the formatting of the footnote numbers, select the Footnotes Reference Style. If you want to change the formatting of the footnote text at the bottom of the page, select the Footnote Text Style. Click Modify, and then change the formatting options (font, size, and so on).
On the Insert menu, click Footnote. Under Format, on the Number format pop-up menu, click the option that you want, and then click Apply. Tips: You can change the size or font of the note reference mark, footnote, or end note exactly as you would any other text.
To change the formatting of the footnote numbers, select the Footnotes Reference Style. If you want to change the formatting of the footnote text at the bottom of the page, select the Footnote Text Style. Click Modify, and then change the formatting options (font, size, and so on).
Hold down CONTROL, click the cross-reference number, and then click Update Field on the shortcut menu. Word updates cross-references automatically when you print. To quickly add a footnote or end note, on the Document Elements tab, under Citations, click Footnote or End note.
Choose Reference from the Insert menu and then choose Footnote. ... Make sure the End notes radio button is selected. Change the Start At value to reflect where you want Word to start numbering. Change the selection in the Numbering area to reflect how you want Word to count your end notes.
Open your OneNote library and your Word document. Select the formatted citation to be edited by moving the cursor to it. In Word's OneNote ribbon, click the Edit & Manage Citation(s) button. Alternatively, right-click and choose Edit Citation(s)
Click anywhere in your document. Go to Insert | Reference | Footnotes. Click End notes and make the appropriate selection from the End notes drop-down list.
