Three types of Goals. There are 3 types of goals: Outcome goals, process goals, and performance goals. Each of the 3 types differs based on how much control we have over it. We have the most control over process goals and the least control over outcome goals.
Set Specific Goals. Your goal must be clear and well-defined. Set Measurable Goals. Include precise amounts, dates, and so on in your goals, so you can measure your degree of success. Set Attainable Goals. Make sure that it's possible to achieve the goals you set. Set Relevant Goals. Set Time-Bound Goals.
By making sure the goals you set are aligned with the five SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound), you have an anchor on which to base all of your focus and decision-making.
Put your business on the fast-track by applying the principles of SMART goal setting. SMART is an acronym for the 5 elements of specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-based goals.
Examples of SMART goals Specific: The goal of becoming a high school math teacher is well-defined. Measurable: Success can be measured by the number of applications, interviews and job offers. Achievable: The goal setter will have the appropriate degree for the job.
