How do you get rid of a page break?

Click Home > Show/Hide. This will display non-printing characters paragraph markers, section breaks, page breaks, etc. That you may want to see while you're working on your document. Double-click the page break so that it's selected, and then press Delete.

How do you remove a stubborn page break?

If you need to delete a page break, you must turn off Track Changes, delete the break (make sure you're in Normal view), and enable Track Changes when you're done. To quickly disable and enable Track Changes, just double-click the TRY section in the Status bar or press [Ctrl]+[Shift]+E.

Can't delete a section break in Word?

Click before the section break that you want to delete. If you don't see the section break, on the Standard toolbar, click. Press. If your keyboard does not have a key, hold down SHIFT and press the right arrow key. , and then press DELETE.

How do you delete a page break in Word?

Open your Word document. Go Home > Click the Show/Hide button to display all non-printable hidden marks like page breaks, spaces, and non-breaking spaces in the document. Double-click to select a page break and press Delete to remove it.

Why can't I delete a page break?

You can't delete a page break because it only exists as a formatting attribute of a paragraph--there is no “break element” to delete. Look for the page with a slightly thicker/darker line at the top margin. That line indicates that the following (or less likely, preceding) paragraph has the page break attribute set.

Why is it so hard to delete a page in Word?

There are many things that are causing blank pages to occur in Word documents. When you find it difficult to delete a page in word, then it means that some paragraph marks and other hidden formatting symbols are causing it.

How do you remove a page break?

Go Home and select Show/Hide. These displays page breaks while you're working on your document. Double-click the page break to select it and then press Delete.
