How do I submit affidavit of support?
Once NVC receives your correct and complete affidavit of support form(s), it will be sent to the appropriate U.S. embassy or consulate, along with the immigrant visa petition. When you send the affidavit of support form to NVC, make sure to send a copy to the alien relative to carry it to the interview.
Do I need to submit affidavit of support for i 130?
When and how do I file the affidavit of support? You do not need to file it with your I-130 petition. When the person reaches the front of the line to immigrate based on your I-130 petition, he or she will have to submit the affidavit of support with an application for an immigrant visa or permanent residence.
Do I need to submit i 864 with I 130?
You do not have to file the I-864 with the I-130, but you will need to prepare it for the NVC after the I-130 is approved.
When should I submit affidavit of support?
In general, the Form I-864 must be submitted within one year of the sponsor's signature. If it is submitted after one year, a new I-864 will be required.
What supporting documents do I need for i 130?
Form I-130 Supporting Documents Checklist Proof of U.S. citizenship via passport, state-issued birth certificate, or naturalization certificate. Birth certificate of parents. Foreign passport of parents. Marriage certificate of your parents.
Who is exempt from filing an affidavit of support?
Exemption Based on AWA Self-Petition Abused or battered spouses or children self-petitioning for U.S. green card under the Violence Against Women Act (AWA) are also exempt from the I-864 Affidavit of Support requirement. Their approved Form I-360 will be sufficient proof of their exemption.
