The Care Certificate is not equivalent to NCQ 2 or to a Level 2 Diploma in Care. The Care Certificate is a set of 15 standards that sets out the knowledge, skills and behaviors expected for specific job roles in the health and social care sectors. Qualifications can play an important role.
The Care Certificate does not require local accreditation by any awarding body or Higher Education Institution, and there is no requirement for it to have external quality assurance. However, individual employers may wish to seek accreditation of the learning or external quality assurance.
