How do I notarize remotely?

Can a notary use an electronic signature?
While an electronic notarization uses digital documents and signature technology, during an notarization the signer must still appear in person before a Notary Public exactly like a traditional pen-and-paper notarization. At present, only three states permit the use of webcam technology to perform notarization.
Can you notarize a printed signature?
A photocopy or fax may be notarized, but only if it bears an original signature. That is, the copy must have been signed with pen and ink. A photocopied or faxed signature may never be notarized. When carbon copies are made, the Notary will sometimes be asked to conform rather than to notarize the copies.
Does signature have to match legal name?
No, you do not have to use your legal name as your signature. That is your choice. At the same time, your bank and your employer do not have to accept your “custom" signature if they do not want to. That is their choice.
Is a printed signature legal?
As long as the signature represents who that person is and his or her intent, any of the marks are considered valid and legally binding. Signatures are usually recorded in pen, but this is not always the case.
Is it legal to copy and paste a signature?
Also called a digital signature, it is any way of signing a non-printed document. However, it should be mentioned that an electronic signature doesn't necessarily mean legally binding because it refers to any online signature, which can include a copy-paste of your own signature.
