Adapted Text is any text that has been changed from its original print format. This may include presenting the text in a different visual manner (e.g. enlarged text), auditory (e.g. audiobook) or simplified manner (e.g. abridged version).
An adapted book is a book that has been modified (or adapted!) in some way. This might mean that the book includes simpler text, additional picture symbols, braille, or some tactile elements. In most cases, these additions are meant to make a book easier for a child to access and use.
”Adapted from” is when you're presenting the material in your own format but based on material produced or otherwise published by your source. The secondary usage of “adapted from” means your presentation is based substantially on one source but with additions from other sources.
Literary adaptation is the adapting of a literary source (e.g. a novel, short story, poem) to another genre or medium, such as a film, stage play, or video game. This is particularly important when adapting to a dramatic work, e.g. film, stage play, teleplay, as dramatic writing is some of the most difficult.

A common form of film adaptation is the use of a novel as the basis of a feature film. Other works adapted into films include non-fiction (including journalism), autobiography, comic books, scriptures, plays, historical sources, and other films.
Content adaptation is the action of transforming content to adapt to device capabilities. Content adaptation is usually related to mobile devices, which require special handling because of their limited computational power, small screen size, and constrained keyboard functionality.
Curriculum adaptation is an ongoing dynamic process that modifies and adapts the prescribed program of studies to meet the learning requirements of a student with special needs. It enables the teaching team to welcome learners of all abilities and ensures that every student is challenged to learn.
