The $290 is the commissary limit, and the phone max's out at around $70 if the inmate uses all their allowed minutes. There's no limit on how much is in their account, and some guys have a lot. $290 at the store goes pretty far, except when you're first getting set up.
Is there a limit to how much money you can send a prisoner?
Some facilities allow only people on the inmate's approved visitation list to send money. Some limit the amount of money that can be sent at any one time to $200 to $300.
How do I send money to a federal inmate?
Call 1-800-CALL-CASH® (1-800-225-5227) to send money using a credit3 or debit card.
Follow the prompts and provide the requested information. You'll need the correctional facility name, inmate's account number, inmate's complete name & send amount.
Save your tracking number (MTC) as proof of payment.
How many pictures can you send to a federal inmate?
Only 5 photos can be sent in an envelope with a single stamp at a time, and often times a facility will only allow 3-5 photos. Remember staff and other inmates will be seeing these.
