How do I update my FCC license?
Log in to US Online Filing with your FCC Registration Number (FAN) and password.
On the left side click Update Licenses.
Select the licenses and click Add.
Click Continue to navigate through the application.
How long does an FCC license last?
The duration of the license period is laid out in 47 CFR 73.1020. All broadcast stations are typically licensed for a period of eight years. If the FCC feels that the public interest will be better served by granting a broadcaster a shorter license period, they may do so.

You may renew your license through universal Licensing System (US) at any time within 90 days of the expiration date for the license and up to two years after the license expires.
What is an FCC license good for?
You need a commercial operator license to operate, and/or to repair and maintain, specified ship, and aircraft radio communication stations. The licensing requirements for operating such radio stations and the licensing requirements for repairing and maintaining such radio stations are discussed separately below.

Why do I need an FCC license? In the United States, the FCC regulates the frequencies that are used by devices like two-way radios. The FCC requires that anyone operating a device on the General Mobile Radio Service (MRS) obtain a license prior to use.
How often must radio and TV stations renew their FCC licenses?
For those who are unfamiliar with the process, the FCC renews broadcast radio and television station licenses for eight-year terms (with a few rare exceptions). So, current license holders must file a separate application for each station every eight years requesting a license renewal and pay the required filing fee.
How do I verify an FCC license?
Click on the Application Search button.
Select General for the Search Type and click Continue.
On the search screen, specify the fields you want to search by and submit your search.
You can search by any of the fields.
How do I look up an FCC license?
In US Application Search, you can search by File Number, FAN, Licensee Name, Application status, application purpose, radio service, auction ID, and other fields.
In US License Search, search by Licensee Name, FAN, Call Sign, Frequencies, License status, market areas, and other fields.
