Ring Alerts are notifications sent to your smartphone, tablet or PC whenever someone presses the front button on your Ring Doorbell. Motion Alerts are notifications you receive when one of your Ring devices senses motion.
Make sure all switches are on by sliding to the right, so they turn green. Under Alert Style, tap Banners or Alerts to select that style. We recommend Alert, but choose whichever one you like.
What are Ring notifications? Ring products are, essentially, home security cameras that let you see, hear and even speak to people right from your smartphone. We'll use Ring's various video doorbells as an example. When the Ring device detects motion, it'll send a notification to your iPhone or Android device.
If you want to “Disable” the ring, you can just turn off Ring Alerts and Motion Alerts. It will still ring your bell inside the house like a dumb doorbell. You'll have to turn off the doorbell, disable its internet access at the router, cover the camera, or temporarily reauthorize any other connected devices.
Follow these steps to turn off motion recording: Open the Ring app. Select your Ring Doorbell. Tap on Motion Record and turn it off.
Ring Cameras Will Shut Off Recording When You're at Home. Ring's first indoor security camera will set you back $59.99. A third-gen Ring Stick Up Cam starts at $99.99. For the privacy-conscious, a Home mode rolling out in November will turn off audio and video recording when users are at home.
