How do I change from PRE settled to settled status?

Can you lose PRE settled status?
With resettled Status you lose your status if you leave the UK for a period of 2 consecutive years, whereas with Settled Status you can be away for 5 years. In addition, your period of 'continuous residence' resets to 0 if you spend over 6 months abroad in any 12-month period with resettled Status.
How long does PRE settled status last?
EEA nationals and their family member(s) who have not lived in the UK for a continuous period of five years will be granted resettled status (also known as limited leave to remain). This can be converted to ILL after five years.
What is the difference between settled and PRE settled status?
Resettle status is a temporary status, while settled status is permanent. The difference can affect vulnerable people. For example, to access benefits, there is a two-stage test: the first stage is to determine whether the person has habitual residence in the UK and the second the eligibility for benefits.
Does settle status expire?
Settled status means they can live for up to five years in a row outside the UK and still return, compared to two years in a row with indefinite leave to remain.
Is Settled status permanent?
Settled status is granted by the Home Office to EEA nationals and their family members after they have lived in the UK for five years. It is granted independently of whether you have a permanent right of residence or not.
Is Settled status same as permanent residence?
As previously indicated, if you already have permanent residence and apply for settled status, you will not have to prove you have 5 years' continuous residence. Please note, permanent residency documents will become invalid after the application deadline for settled status under the scheme.
