Sec. 2103.2. General purpose. The funds used to provide this project must be provided to the following entities: (1) The California Community Health Agencies Council, Inc. (cchac-ci). (2) The California Healthcare Agencies Council, Inc. (chance). (3) The University of California, San Francisco and Stanford University. (4) The California State Medical Directors Association (CSMA). (5) The California State Nurses Association (sea). (6) The State Division for Aging and Adult Services, or their successor. (7) Any other entity identified in an intergovernmental agreement between the University of California and the state to provide telecast or to make grants for telecast activities. The funds used to provide this project must be used exclusively for telemedicine services. A grant is prohibited for telemedicine activities not consistent with this chapter. Funding is not available to pay the cost of providing telemedicine services. Davis Telemedicine Facilities. (The cost of the project is estimated at the time this application is submitted, or as of such date as the funding agency determines, whichever is later. All estimated costs are subject to change and may exceed the amount proposed. No more than three of the telemedicine facilities may be located on- campus.) (2) Provide or obtain the necessary equipment (including servers) and other support equipment (such as routers, switches, storage and other necessary components), and services necessary, reasonably necessary, and appropriate to carry out the program. The funds provided to implement this project also may include any other funds available to the project sponsor to cover the costs of this project and its components, in addition to and not in substitution of any other Federal or State funds. Such funds must be provided in cash or in a non-interest bearing, legally enforceable contract. (3) Obtain the rights to intellectual property developed by the project sponsor, including the copyright assignment, in conjunction with the telemedicine activities. (D) Funds made available pursuant to this paragraph may not be used to operate or maintain hospital facilities, or medical clinics, in the San Joaquin Valley region. (4) Allocate these funds to eligible entities listed under subdivision (B)(2) within the University of California system for telemedicine programs. (5) The University of California will provide the necessary funding to implement and sustain such programs.
