The Federal Government and its partners are implementing the Federal Strategic Framework for AIMS to: (1) facilitate the execution of Federal, State, and local domestic incident management, emergency management, and homeland security programs; (2) facilitate the efficient reporting, exchange, and use of information between federal, state, and local government agencies; (3) foster better partnership among Federal, State, and local agencies and partners; (4) facilitate information sharing and use between Federal, State, and local emergency agencies and entities; (5) facilitate communication between Federal, State, and local government agencies and non-Federal entities and organizations; and (6) improve the capacity of Federal, State, and local government agencies, State and local emergency management entities, and non-Federal entities and organizations to respond to domestic incident issues. The Federal Government has provided a Federal grant to enable the development and implementation of the Federal Strategic Framework for AIMS--(1) and its components, as described in the grant, including the Federal AIMS Infrastructure Project and components thereof; (2) The grant program will be managed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Federal Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA's) National Coordination center located at 515 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20593, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency Office of Planning and Research at 930 Pennsylvania Avenue, NE, Washington, DC 20424. Funding for the grant to support the development and implementation of the Federal Strategic Framework for AIMS will help maintain Federal preparedness for and response to domestic incidents, including through the maintenance of an AIMS Infrastructure Project, the development and testing of national standards and guidelines, and the enhancement of the implementation of AIMS. The Federal Government has been providing a grant to enable the development and implementation of the Federal Strategic Framework for AIMS for three years and a grant providing 7.5 million to the Ohio AIMS Institute since its inception.
